How to save YouTube videos on desktop?

Many a times we come across a video on YouTube which we want to save on desktop. You can watch the video again later without visiting the internet. Well this can be done easily in few steps.

Watch the full video which you want to save on youtube in Internet Explorer.

Goto Tools > Internet Options > Browsing History > Settings > View Files. A explorer window will open.

Click on "Last Accessed" column header such that the column gets sorted with latest time on top.

Look for "Flash video" under column "Type". That row is for the video you just watched.

Copy that file and paste on your desktop.

The file extension will be .flv

Play the file in your favorite player which supports flv.

I use VLC to play all types of videos including flv.
