How to save YouTube videos on desktop?

Many a times we come across a video on YouTube which we want to save on desktop. You can watch the video again later without visiting the internet. Well this can be done easily in few steps.

  • Watch the full video which you want to save on youtube in Internet Explorer.

  • Goto Tools > Internet Options > Browsing History > Settings > View Files. A explorer window will open.

  • Click on "Last Accessed" column header such that the column gets sorted with latest time on top.

  • Look for "Flash video" under column "Type". That row is for the video you just watched.

  • Copy that file and paste on your desktop.

  • The file extension will be .flv

  • Play the file in your favorite player which supports flv.

  • I use VLC to play all types of videos including flv.
